Lane Cove West parents and students working hard planting 380 trees
On September 5th, 2009 60 volunteer parents under the leadership of Maintenance coordinator and P&C member, Gareth Evans, spent an entire Saturday digging, planting and watering in 380 native plants. These plants were supplied by Lane Cove Council, and the local Bunnings also assisted with supplies, such as a rotary hoe and the assistance of one of their employees. Sun hats were also supplied by Bunnings and Lane Cove Council nursery made sure that the plants were native to the local Lane Cove area. Principal, Judy Doherty praised the work of the enthusiastic parents, students and staff who gave up their weekend to beautify the school grounds and help green Australia.
